This Acceptable Use Policy ("Policy") governs your use of Easel's ecommerce platform and services. By using Easel, you agree to comply with this Policy and our Terms of Service.
Prohibited Content and Activities
You may not use Easel to sell, promote, or distribute:
- Illegal goods or services: Anything prohibited by applicable law
- Counterfeit products: Fake, replica, or unauthorized copies of branded goods
- Stolen goods: Items obtained through theft, fraud, or other illegal means
- Adult content: Pornography, adult toys, or sexually explicit material
- Gambling services: Online casinos, betting platforms, or gambling tools
- Weapons and explosives: Firearms, ammunition, explosives, or weapon accessories
- Drugs and controlled substances: Illegal drugs, prescription medications, or drug paraphernalia
- Tobacco products: Cigarettes, e-cigarettes, vaping products, or tobacco accessories
- Hazardous materials: Toxic, flammable, or dangerous substances
Prohibited Business Models
We refuse service to businesses that operate using:
- Multi-level marketing: Pyramid schemes, MLM structures, or recruitment-based income
- Predatory lending: Payday loans, title loans, or exploitative financial services
- Surveillance services: Monitoring software, spyware, or privacy-invasive tools
- Investment scams: Get-rich-quick schemes, cryptocurrency scams, or fraudulent investment opportunities
- Subscription traps: Deceptive billing practices or difficult-to-cancel subscriptions
Values-Based Exclusions
We won't work with businesses that:
- Spread misinformation: Vaccine misinformation, climate denial, or deliberate health misinformation
- Promote hatred: Content targeting specific groups based on race, religion, gender, sexuality, or nationality
- Support apartheid states: Businesses that directly support or operate in apartheid conditions
- Exploit workers: Companies with documented patterns of severe labor violations
Technical Restrictions
You may not:
- Abuse our systems: Attempt to hack, disrupt, or overload our services
- Circumvent limits: Work around rate limits, storage quotas, or feature restrictions
- Scrape data: Automated data collection from other users' stores
- Spam or phish: Send unsolicited emails or attempt to collect customer credentials
- Violate IP rights: Infringe on trademarks, copyrights, or other intellectual property
Customer Data Protection
You must:
- Obtain consent: Get proper permission before collecting customer data
- Secure data: Protect any customer information you collect
- Respect privacy: Follow applicable privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA, etc.)
- Handle payments legally: Comply with all payment processing regulations
Geographic Restrictions
Easel services are not available to:
- Businesses operating in countries under comprehensive sanctions
- Individuals or entities on restricted persons lists
- Residents of jurisdictions where our services would violate local law
Enforcement
Account suspension: We may immediately suspend accounts that violate this Policy.
Content removal: We'll remove prohibited content and may restrict future uploads.
Termination: Any violation may result in immediate permanent account termination at our discretion.
Reporting Violations
If you encounter content or behavior that violates this Policy, please report it to abuse@easel.engineering.
Include:
- The specific store or content URL
- Description of the violation
- Any supporting evidence
Updates to This Policy
We may update this Policy to reflect changes in law, our services, or industry standards. We'll notify active users of significant changes via email or through your account dashboard.
Continued use of Easel after Policy updates constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
