Acceptable Use Policy

This policy sets out what you can't do with Easel. It's part of our Terms of Service, and by using Easel you agree to it. "We" and "us" mean ParaVoce LLC, which runs Easel.

What you can't sell

You may not use Easel to sell, promote, or distribute:

  • Illegal goods or services: anything the law prohibits
  • Counterfeits: fake, replica, or unauthorized copies of branded goods
  • Stolen goods: anything obtained through theft, fraud, or other illegal means
  • Adult content: pornography, sex toys, or sexually explicit material
  • Gambling: online casinos, betting, or gambling tools
  • Weapons and explosives: firearms, ammunition, explosives, or weapon accessories
  • Drugs: illegal drugs, prescription medication, or drug paraphernalia
  • Tobacco: cigarettes, e-cigarettes, vaping products, or tobacco accessories
  • Hazardous materials: toxic, flammable, or dangerous substances

Business models we won't host

  • Multi-level marketing: pyramid schemes, MLMs, or income based on recruiting
  • Predatory lending: payday loans, title loans, or other exploitative financial services
  • Surveillance: monitoring software, spyware, or other tools that invade privacy
  • Investment scams: get-rich-quick schemes, crypto scams, or fraudulent investments
  • Subscription traps: deceptive billing or subscriptions that are hard to cancel

Businesses we won't work with

Easel isn't neutral. We won't host businesses that:

  • Spread misinformation: about vaccines, the climate, or health
  • Promote hatred: against people because of their race, religion, gender, sexuality, or nationality
  • Support apartheid: by directly supporting or operating under apartheid conditions
  • Exploit workers: with a documented pattern of serious labor violations

Technical rules

You may not:

  • Abuse our systems: try to hack, disrupt, or overload Easel
  • Get around limits: work around rate limits, storage quotas, or feature restrictions
  • Scrape other stores: collect data from other merchants' stores automatically
  • Spam or phish: send unsolicited email or try to collect customers' passwords
  • Infringe IP: violate trademarks, copyrights, or other intellectual property

Protecting your customers' data

You must:

  • Get consent: before collecting customer data
  • Keep it secure: protect the customer information you collect
  • Follow privacy law: such as GDPR and CCPA
  • Take payments legally: follow the rules that apply to payment processing

Where Easel isn't available

  • Businesses operating in countries under comprehensive sanctions
  • People or organizations on sanctions or restricted-party lists
  • Anyone in a place where using Easel would break local law

Enforcement

If you break this policy, we may:

  • Suspend your account immediately
  • Remove prohibited content and limit what you can upload
  • Permanently terminate your account, at our discretion

Reporting a violation

If you see a store breaking this policy, email abuse@easel.engineering with the store or page address, what's wrong, and any evidence you have. See Report Abuse for details.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the law, Easel, or industry standards change. We'll tell active merchants about significant changes by email or in the dashboard. If you keep using Easel after a change, you accept the updated policy.
